JOURNALISM

original journalism, editorial & features

"In December, we stayed at the Ipswich Capel St Mary Travelodge.  The receptionist did not smile, but a short curly hair was there to welcome us in the bath.  We couldn't afford anywhere swanky, so we had booked our stay online for £15 in the pre-Christmas sale.  Once in the room, our child careered off the walls, shouting with delight.  We turned on the TV, made a cuppa, and belligerently ignored the fact that the windows were fixed with a piece of laminated wire, 'for our own security'.  We were 'away'!  Heaven!"
